Today’s Thought

Good Morning, Folks! Today another week begins. As this week begins, is there something in your life that needs a beginning? Is God laying on your heart to do or not to do something? Folks, maybe this is the week to stop praying for His guidance and step out and do it! God will be walking side by side with you!

Remember, keep Jesus first in everything you do and keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts. Have a great week and let God be God!

Bats in a Belfry

Three pastors in the south were having lunch in a diner.
One said “Ya know, since summer started I’ve been having trouble with bats in my loft and attic at church. I’ve tried everything—noise, spray, cats—nothing seems to scare them away.
Another said “Yea, me too. I’ve got hundreds living in my belfry and in the narthex attic. I’ve even had the place fumigated, and they won’t go away.”
The third said, “I baptized all mine, and made them members of the church. Haven’t seen one back since!!!”

My Thoughts For The Week

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Matthew 7:21

God didn’t create heaven as a club for people who say the right password. Many people think they can do a few good deeds and get into heaven. Their goal is to get into heaven by the skin of their teeth and figure heaven is the reward for their efforts.

Folks, that is not how God figures it, though. It’s not easy to follow God’s will in this world. We have to resist sins that other people enjoy. We might have to put up with people making fun of us and accusing us of being narrow minded and unloving. We sometimes live as foreigners in a place where other people feel at home.

Remember, God understands our difficulties. He’s with us every step of the way. He knows what we go through and He’s here to help us. He rewards us with His presence, grace and forgiveness in this life, and we look forward to heaven in the next. When you think about it, that’s an unbeatable deal.

Enjoy your week and “keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts.”

Thoughts From…Romans 11:33

Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!
Romans 11:33 NLT

Has it ever occurred to you that nothing new ever occurs to God? He already knows everything there is to know. This is a difficult concept for us because we learn something new every day. And we could learn a million new things each day and still not know what God knows.
